Struer statsgymnasium

Struer is a port city located in the northern part of Middle Jutland in Denmark. The city is home to some 10,000 people, including several international students living at the boarding school and attending the gymnasium.

The city is also home to the world-famous electronic manufacturer, Bang & Olufsen. The distinguished brand is well known for their high-end speakers and exclusive products that not only follows trends but sets them. As a frontrunner for the evolution of speakers worldwide, Bang & Olufsen has gained massive popularity. In Struer, the luxury cinema, Apollon, has all Bang & Olufsen speakers, ensuring a great sound quality of the movie.

In the heart of the city lies Folkets Hus, which is both a venue for the many concerts held in Struer and a host for conferences, events and the like.

By the beautiful Limfjord lies the train station of Struer, which connects Struer to the rest of the country, north to south. A small walk from the train station and you reach Struer Statsgymnasium, which was built in 1938. The school has approximately 850 students with circa 120 of those also living at the boarding school across the street. The school offers 7 different educations: STX, HHX, HTX, 10th grade, HG/EUD, HF, EUX, and IB. The latter is the reason Struer is home to many international students. Some of Struer Statsgymnasium’s extracurriculars include the debate club, the student council, the amnesty youth group, the culture club, the film club, the science club and many more.
